A Poem About Healing And Software Engineering

A Poem About Healing And Software Engineering

Okay so this is an educational blog.

Why on earth would I share with you a poem? Well because often poems will teach us more than anything can.

And the lessons are in the real life learnings.

The lessons are in the real life journey.

I can teach you about objects and interfaces, I can teach you about Python and toasters, I can teach you about problem solving and software engineering, commenting, and pairing - but maybe you already know it all - and maybe you don't. But what I can teach you about even more is hope.

Overcoming the loss of hope.

Overcoming the situations where it just seems so terrible and where it feels like there is no hope for you at all. I can teach you about how it feels to find your niche in a world where it doesn't feel like it was designed for you and where it didn't feel like you were meant to fit in.

I can teach you about finding hope at the end of a long, long journey, and how it feels to finally find your hope - and your implementation of things.

So that it doesn't feel like I am at the end of my journey.

But just at my beginning.

And that I can teach you - whether you have 100 years of Software Engineering experience - or five - or even minus one.

"I want to go back in time to my seventeen year old self and give her a flower"

I want to go back in time to my seventeen year old self and give her a flower

I want to go back in time to my seventeen year old self and give her a flower

To represent healing

To symbolise healing

To tell her that she will get through

It will represent healing

It will symbolise healing

It will tell her that there is light at the end of the tunnel

It will represent softness and gentleness

It will symbolise softness and gentleness

The softness and gentleness that she will become

After all of these years

And all of this healing

And I will tell her

That she will find her passion

That she will find her niche

And that she will be okay

It will all be okay

And that she will become such softness

And such gentleness

And such beauty

And in her she will find such softness

Such gentleness

And such beauty

And I give her permission

To talk about the wind farms

And talk about the pylons

To talk about the software engineering

As much as she pleases

And that I give her permission

To talk about the pylons

To talk about the wind farms

And to talk about the software engineering

As much as she pleases

Always always about the software engineering

As much as she pleases

Always always about the software engineering

As much as she pleases

Always always about the software engineering

Always always about the software engineering

Always always about the software engineering

Always always about the software engineering

Thank you.

A final note

I can never ever tell you what this means to me.

I can never ever tell you, what this means to me to have found this

I can never tell you, what this means to me to have found this

Thank you.
